What happens in a sound healing session?
In a sound healing session, you’ll lie down or sit comfortably while I play instruments such as gongs, crystal bowls, and chimes. The vibrations create a field of resonance that encourages deep relaxation, release of tension, and a sense of inner balance. Many clients notice shifts in energy, emotional release, or a feeling of being “lighter” by the end of the session.
Our Sound Journey group sessions offer a shared energetic experience, while private sound healing sessions allow for a more intimate, tailored sound experience, whether just for you, a small group, or larger events.
Will I feel anything during a sound session?
Experiences vary and can be quite unique. Some people notice subtle tingling, warmth, or vibrations in the body, while others experience shifts in inner temperature - feeling hot or cold in different areas. Some clients see colors, geometric shapes, or even visions, while others feel a profound sense of peace or enter a timeless, spaceless state.
Occasionally, the experience can feel a little like a gentle, natural “psychedelic” shift, not overwhelming, but deeply expansive. Every session is different because you are different each time, and you may notice the vibrations most strongly exactly where your body or energy needs them on the day.
How long is a sound session usually?
A typical sound session lasts about one hour of uninterrupted sound, but we always allow extra time before and after. This is part of the experience: settling in, connecting, and gently coming back afterwards can’t be rushed.
Do I need to believe in sound therapy for it to work?
No. You don’t need prior knowledge or belief in sound therapy. The vibrations work on physical, mental, and energetic layers whether or not you consciously “believe.” In simple terms, sound affects the body and mind in measurable ways, and the session often works through spontaneous synchronicity, meaning the sound vibration, your energy, and the timing naturally align to create the shifts you need.
How does sound and vibration therapy work?
Sound and vibration therapy works by using specific frequencies from instruments like singing bowls and gongs to create a state of deep relaxation. These vibrations can help to reduce stress, balance energy, and promote overall well-being.
How do I best prepare for the session?
Staying hydrated throughout the day and before the session helps your body receive the vibrations more fully.
For private sessions, choose a space where you can relax without interruption.
For a group sound session to receive the best experience it's best to wear comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early to relax and settle in, feeling present, relaxed, and open.

Is sound healing a replacement for medical or psychological care?
No. Sound therapy complements medical or psychological care by addressing tension, stress, and energetic patterns. It can enhance well-being, but it is not a substitute for professional treatment.
Contraindications & Safety
Sound healing is generally safe, but some conditions require extra caution. If you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have implanted medical devices (like pacemakers or stents), are managing epilepsy or severe mental health conditions, have had recent surgery, or have metal implants, please check with your healthcare provider before booking a session.
When in doubt, it’s always safest to consult your doctor, your well-being comes first.
Can children attend sessions?
Children are welcome to join, and we love having them share in the experience and bring their pure energy to the space. To ensure everyone benefits from the session, children should be able to remain quietly on their mat. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
What should I expect in a group vs. private session?
Group Sound Journeys: Shared experience, set location and time, booked in advance.
Private Sessions (The Sound Space): Tailored to your needs, can be just for you, an intimate group, or an event. You can choose the instruments and facilitators involved.
Do I need prior experience in meditation, energy work, or sound therapy?
No. All sessions are designed for beginners and experienced clients alike. Simply arrive with openness and curiosity.
Can my pet attend a private sound session?
Yes, it is generally safe for pets to be present during a private sound session. Some animals love the vibrations and settle in nearby, while others may prefer their own space. Always let your pet choose what feels right for them, and never force them to participate, they will naturally find the environment and experience that suits them best.
Pets cannot attend open to public group sound sessions, such as Sound Journey.
